Guardian of the Flowers

After a bit of a hiatus--yet another piece in my "Visions" project: an ongoing exploration of fantasy; pre-Raphaelite; and Victorian classicism inspired images.

This is another product from the "Fairy Shoot" many of the images I've posted thus far, are from. The image was meant to be a companion piece to Peaseblossom , and is meant to be very rough, and fresco-y. Some of you may prefer the lighter version of this image--so I've posted that, as well: [link] , but the darker image will blend better with the original series--particularly when printed up.

I love the way she's curling protectively around the flowers, watching over them...hence, the name of this piece!

The young lady in the shot was 12, when I took this-and is an accomplished young singer and actress...sadly...she recently cut all her hair...so there won't be any new shoots featuring that magnificent mane of hers for a while! :-/
